Join me on my introduction to growing food course. You’ll spend the day immersed in our garden, learning how to create a beautiful and productive vegetable garden alongside a busy life. Expect to leave bursting with inspiration, knowledge and enthusiasm!
On this course you’ll learn everything you need to start growing your own food. We’ll start with a tour of the smallholding. You’ll see the orchard & chickens, the ducks and their famous hobbit house, the coppice, the bees, and, of course, the vegetable gardens and greenhouses. There’s a free time session just before lunch is served to give you time to explore the gardens and absorb at your own pace. We’ll cover topics like setting up a new growing space, planning the veg patch, sowing seeds, looking after plants, composting, nature friendly gardening, companion planting and preserving the harvest. You will learn how to garden organically by working in harmony with nature, and there will be some practical activities along the way such as seed sowing and taking cuttings.
Lunch will be provided - delicious treats from the garden!
Course attendees will be given free copies of my planting plan and eBook, to provide a fully comprehensive learning experience.
I really look forward to welcoming you to Happy Smallholding!
